How to Create a Strong Content Strategy

Being overwhelmed by your brand’s content is the last thing you want to deal with. 

Right? 

Maybe you spend hours stuck trying to create eye-catching content, or maybe you’re so wrapped up in work that you forget about squeezing in content creation on your calendar? 

Well, you don’t have to be on a frustrating content wheel forever. 

There are a few things you can do now to build a strong foundation for your content strategy. 

Let’s get into it! 

Get feedback from your dream customer or client. 

If you know your target audience inside out, you’ll easily nail your content. 

Ask yourself, “What do they want to see, learn or buy from me?” or “How can I best support them?” 

Find the answers by doing surveys with your email subscribers or asking them to reply back to your emails with their thoughts about a specific question. 

Instagram is also a great place to get feedback. 

Share questions in your Instagram Stories using polls and question stickers. 

Follow a theme that aligns with your business. 

Feeling like you’re all over the place with your content?

Keep it simple with a theme for each month. 

You can break your themes down into topics for each week. Make sure your themes actually solve your ideal customer or client’s problem. 

Once you narrow down your theme, you’ll have more clarity about the types of images, graphics, videos, and captions that you want to include in your content. 

Carve out time for some inspiration.

Always keep things fresh for your audience by drawing up inspo from Pinterest, your favorite books, magazines, Canva, and your day-to-day life. 

Don’t just browse.

Create mood boards, a Google Drive inspo folder, and a running list of ideas on your computer or even on your phone.

Always plan and schedule your content.

As a busy business owner, you don’t have time to create social media posts, email content, or blog content on the fly.
